Casa Ninamu is a sumptuous 2 bedroom villita (small villa!) with a pool and jungle terrace on a private beach just south of Sayulita. It’s really the best spot where you can hear the waves while falling asleep and in the morning take a swim in the clear ocean out front or in the pool. The village of Sayulita has become very popular and crowded these days. It’s fun to go into town for shopping or dining or surfing, but not necessarily sleeping or relaxing. Casa Ninamu, a 15 minute walk through the palms to town, is owned by German fashion photographer Anne Menke and her husband Johann. Anne is a true gypsetter and photographed much of my first book Gypset Style. She and her family live on the adjacent property to Casa Ninamu in big, gorgeous villa that blends into the tropical nature— they also rent out that house— but if they happen to be home you can go over have a drink with them at sunset and trade stories from near and afar.
